Vanmiddag naar het circus geweest en ja je mocht foto's maken!
Veruit Meike's favoriet: de olifant. Ook de paarden vond ze mooi maar die kreeg ik niet fatsoenlijk op de foto (staan niet stil dat is het grootste probleem). Ik wil geen discussie beginnen over dieren in het circus maar eigenlijk vind ik het toch wel een beetje zielig, de hele dag in een erg klein weitje staan (in het geval van de olifant) of in een kleine kooi en dan één keer eruit om in de tent z'n kunstje te doen. Veel vrijheid en ruimte heeft het dier helaas niet. Maar goed wat is nu een circus zonder dieren, dat dan ook weer wel. Blijft moeilijk dit onderwerp.
This afternoon we went to the circus and yes one was allowed to make pictures!
By far Meike's favorite: the elefant. She liked the horses too but I couldn't take a decent picture of those (they won't stand still that is biggest problem). I don't want to start the discussion on animals in the circus, but I do think it is a bit sad and cruel; standing in a very small meadow for the whole day (in case of the elefant) or in a small cage and they only get out for the show. The animals don't get much space and freedom. But a circus without animals, that is not the same either. It is a difficult topic.
Gemmy vond alles mooi en geweldig maar van de tijgers was ze ook wel gecharmeerd. vooral die grote witte maakte wel indruk, hij kon ook geweldig grommen naar de dompteur!
Gemmy liked about everything but was also impressed with the tigers, especially the big white one and he could growl so very hard!
Joris was geheel onder de indruk van de moteract, vier crossmoters in een stalen kooi. Prachtig om te zien maar ook doodeng, zoveel moters in zo'n kleine kooi en dan nog vlak langs elkaar op rijden ook! Erg indrukwekkend, het was dan ook de slotact.
Joris was totally impressed by the motor act, four off the road motors in a steel cage. Great show but quite scary too; so many motors in such a small cage and riding so close to each other! Very impressive, it was the closing act too.
Buiten zijn we nog even bij de olifant wezen kijken en Joris durfde hem wel te voeren!
We went to see the elefant outside and Joris dared to feed it!
